About the Project:
The mama and baby beaver are swimming through the interconnected wetlands, surrounded by Common Cattail, Water Buttercup, Shooting Star, and Sweetgrass. Beavers are often nicknamed Nature’s architects because their creations result in rippling benefits throughout
their ecosystem. With transformation, resourcefulness, and creativity, we can all make a positive impact on our community, our family, and our own lives by pursuing new possibilities. In the Seven Grandfather Teachings, beavers teach us about wisdom and how each of us has our own unique purpose. Much like the beaver, we have the ability to create lasting positive effects for our communities through our actions today, powering the possibility for a bright future.

AUArts and ATB Bring Art into Everyday Spaces
As Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) marks its centennial year, a new partnership with ATB Financial (ATB) is transforming ATB’s branch and corporate spaces across Canada into sites of creativity, connection and inspiration.
In 2026, artwork by 14 AUArts alumni will be installed in new and refreshed ATB branches and corporate locations across Canada — transforming traditional banking spaces into vibrant community galleries and supporting Alberta’s arts and culture industry. The featured artists represent a multigenerational, diverse cross-section of AUArts alumni, with graduates from approximately 1968 to 2025.
This artwork was selected as one of the 14 alumni pieces. Learn more: https://www.auarts.ca/news/art-where-you-live-auarts-and-atb-bring-art-into-everyday-spaces
